Question:

Is FARM kid friendly?

Answer:

That really depends on the kid.  We do not have special offerings and pricing for children.  If your little ones like to explore different flavors, they might enjoy the FARM experience.  If they just like to run around and explore during dinner, it might be best to get a sitter.  Space is tight in the dining room, and there's not much wiggle room.

Question:

What is your corkage policy?

ANSWER:

We have worked hard to select off-the-beaten-path wines that spark conversation, represent stories that align with our values and, most importantly, pair remarkably with our food. Furthermore, we seek out wines that punch way above their class, and we pass that value along to you.  We'd prefer you allow us to help select wines that will beautifully accompany your meal. That said, if you have an exceptional bottle you'd like to enjoy with an extraordinary dinner, we would be happy to cork and serve it for a $40 fee.

Question:

I’ve heard your portions are kinda small and your prices are kinda high… Whats up with that?

ANSWER:

We portion our plates modestly, encouraging guests to explore several dishes at the peak of seasonal relevance. Furthermore, we source our ingredients directly from small family farmers who use environmentally sustainable agricultural practices to bring us the freshest, most flavorful products available.  The way we operate is not cheap, and we trust that our patrons find great value in the efforts involved along the way and the exceptional dishes that result.  From the perspective of one of our patrons, “Hell, the way I see it you are saving me a ton of money.  To get food anywhere near this good I’d have to fly to New York… or at least drive to Charleston.”

QUESTION:

I’m a vegetarian… What am I going to do?

ANSWER:

Just let us know and we’ll guide you in the right direction.  Vegetarians (and even vegans) eat very well at FARM.  Plants abound on our menu, and many of our meat containing dishes don’t touch animal products until the moment they are ordered. This means we can offer more (and more interesting) vegetarian options than your typical eatery.

QUESTION:

Where do I park?

ANSWER:

There is usually parking along May River Road, between Bluffton Road and Goethe Road.  About 100 yards down Calhoun on the left (between May River Road and the May River) there is a public parking lot. Thanks to the town of Bluffton and Cornerstone Church for making that happen.

QUESTION:

How much should we order?

ANSWER:

A good old fashioned word problem might provide some perspective here: A party of six shared our whole menu, and every person at that table felt good enough for a leisurely stroll down the block, all the while knowing that a few more bites might just put them in a delightful and dreamy food coma.  They literally tried every dish, as they were swept away on a journey of culinary enlightenment.  How much did they order? To hit this sweet spot, somewhere in the vicinity of three dishes each would be appropriate.  If you want to check your math on the example above, dinner ran around $280 for the six top, or about $46 per head.  And, rest assured, they were all happy as clams.

QUESTION:

I'm trying to make a reservation... Why don’t you answer when I call?

ANSWER:

With 45 seats and only about 10 people on staff, we can't afford to man the phone all the time. If you're calling for a reservation, use the reservation link at the top of this page to book now.  If you are looking to dine with six or fewer inside the dining room, our system will tell you if we have space available or not.  If you are looking to book a larger party, or are willing to sit on our cozy, quiet, heated (when appropriate) patio, a text message indicating so is our preferred way to get that going. Please keep in mind that, especially on nights we expect to be busy, we will only book larger parties before 6 or after 8.  While we would love to have your group at 730, we can't afford to let that table sit empty until then, and we don't want y'all to arrive and not have a place to sit.

QUESTION:

Can you hold the onions, put ranch on my salad, and swap the potatoes for rice?

ANSWER:

A great deal of time, effort and consideration goes into composing dishes that are complex and engaging, with flavors, colors, aromas and textures that balance in stunning culinary harmony.  The more we add, take away or otherwise change any of these elements, the further from the intended dish we get.  While we will make every effort to accommodate dietary restrictions or aversions, some requests might not be possible to fulfill. Certain other requests may be considered heresy, and could result in heated argument... just kidding... or are we? Seriously, just trust Chef and his team.  If you have a food allergy, please let us know so we can guide you in the right direction and and take extra precautions to ensure your meal is prepared accordingly.

QUESTION:

Do you have a gluten free menu?

ANSWER:

Many of the items on our current are gluten free by design and many others can be modified to accommodate a gluten free diet.

QUESTION:

Can I just grab a seat at the bar?

ANSWER:

It depends.  Every seat in the building, including the bar, the chef's counter, and the community table, is open for reservations.  We would love to have you join us for a drink, but we'd rather have you join us for dinner, so we reserve bar seats for diners whenever business volume dictates.
